Nurses:
“I had surgery in Arlington, VA, and at the Cleveland Clinic. My wife’s a nurse, and tough as nails. The staff on 3 West was exceptional.” B.P, joint replacement patient

Joint replacement nurses on 3 West have special training to care for the special needs of joint replacement patients. Marlene Gammon, nurse manager on 3 West is proud of her staff.

Marlene, Kathy Dooley, Jeff Yahya and other nurses worked with Rick Puckett, the training coordinator to develop a rigorous training program for staff nurses.

You can be confident that the nurses caring for you are trained to understand safe positioning, and modern techniques to help you achieve a speedy recovery.

Regaining strength and function after joint replacement is supervised by physical therapists. Karen Goad and Frank Genco worked with the joint replacement team to develop our joint replacement protocol. They will show you proven techniques to gain the best possible function from your new joint.

Pharmacy:
Medications are an important part of safe recovery after joint replacement. Antibiotics, blood thinners and pain medications all play a part in safe recovery. Phillip Wright supervises ongoing best practices for drug use in our program. Phillip, Randy Sarles and the pharmacy staff double check medication regimens to make your surgery as safe as possible.
